The APPG recently partnered with the Commission into Countering Online Conspiracies in Schools to host a parliamentary drop-in. Many parliamentarians have expressed concerns over the pervasiveness of conspiracy theories in their engagement both locally and in Westminster, whether that be on the doorstep, in correspondence with constituents, in casework, or in discussions with colleagues. The event was designed to allow parliamentarians to hear more about the work of the Commission and seek advice from relevant commissioners and advisers.
The event was attended by a range of parliamentarians including Lord Weir, Baroness Deech, Damian Egan MP, Lauren Sullivan MP and her staff, Damian Hinds MP, Gurinder Josan MP, Patrick Hurley MP, Nav Mishra MP, Paul Davies MP, Sureena Brackenridge MP, and representatives from the offices of Blair McDougall MP and Lisa Smart MP.
